Premier League stars are well known for their taste in luxury supercars, with Ferraris and Lamborghinis some of the most common choices

A popular Liverpool car dealer has sold Kostas Tsimikas three vehicles worth around £140,000 combined. However, the Range Rover, Mercedes and Audi trio weren't actually his choice.

Jay McConville runs Solo Car Sales alongside his dad, Steven, which is located just down the street from Anfield. The dealership is a family-run business and has been a link between Premier League stars and their dream cars.

The motors expert has sold to some high-profile names, including boxers Callum and Liam Smith, as well as Liverpool Women's star Jenna Clark. Jay has also bought a Mercedes G63 G-Wagon from World Cup star Bukayo Saka, which is worth £142,000.

However, he has done a great deal of business with Tsimikas - affectionately known as the 'Greek Scouser' by Reds fans. The defender has purchased a Range Rover Evoque, a Mercedes A-Class and an Audi Q7 from Solo Cars in the past.

These cars are worth a combined £140,000, but Tsimikas didn't actually want any of the luxury vehicles himself. Speaking exclusively to the ECHO, Jay said: "I’ve sold Tsimikas three cars so far.

"They weren’t as expensive; they were more so for his girlfriend than for him. I didn’t have the Lamborghini he wanted at the time, but he picked up a £30,000 Range Rover, an Audi and a Mercedes A-Class."

Solo Car Sales began in 2008 in the heart of Liverpool and has grown from a small business to one that fields over 100 cars every month. When asked what the most common cars his famous customers are after, Jay was clear about just how predictable they are.

He added: "It sounds terrible to say that to be honest, but, you know, the footballers want the footballers' cars. They want Lamborghinis, [Ferraris, G-Wagons]. That’s kind of the textbook stuff.

"I can't help but see that a lot of the England stars, in particular, all have Lamborghinis. That's like a thing."

Despite this close business relationship Tsimikas and Solo Cars have founded, it may be broken up if the Greece international departs Liverpool this summer. Last season, Tsimikas was sent on loan to Roma and made just 11 starts in Italy.

Milos Kerkez is likely to become Andoni Iraola's new starter at left-back this season but Andy Robertson's departure has opened up a back-up spot for the 30-year-old. Tsimikas has just a year left on his contract, however, and may opt to head elsewhere this summer for more regular game time.
