The summer transfer window has kicked up a notch as the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool all strive to get some major deals over the line. Granit Xhaka wants to join Chelsea this summer, reports claim.
Standard Sport understands that the Blues are interested in a shock deal for the ex-Arsenal captain in this transfer window.
However, talks have not yet taken place with Sunderland, who do not want to sell their own influential skipper.
Fabrizio Romano states that Xhaka, who turns 34 in September, very much wants to reunite with former Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso at Stamford Bridge and has expressed a keen desire to return to London.

Arsenal appear to have received a significant boost in their high-profile pursuit of Bruno Guimaraes.
The Gunners are long-time admirers of the influential Newcastle captain, having apparently seen an opening bid worth £55m rejected earlier this week.
Arsenal are now believed to be preparing a second offer for Guimaraes, who is currently away at the World Cup with Brazil.
