Harrison Armstrong has numerous Championship clubs chasing the former Derby County midfielder's signature - but he could be sent on a European adventure next season.
Armstrong's future is under the spotlight again this summer as Everton ponder whether to send the midfielder on loan as they eye a deal for Middlesbrough's Hayden Hackney.
Armstrong spent the first half of last season on loan at Preston before returning to Everton where he featured in the Premier League for the second half of the campaign and produced some standout performances in the process.
Derby were interested in re-signing Armstrong last summer, but David Moyes only agreed to send him to his former club Preston on deadline day.
He now has a string of Championship clubs chasing his signature again this summer, according to Alan Nixon, who also says that he could be sent on loan to clubs in Europe.
It is claimed that his camp is looking at potential moves to France and Germany to help develop his game.
Derby are seeking to bolster their midfield again this summer, having seen David Ozoh return to Crystal Palace, where he has one year remaining on his contract.
Head coach John Eustace was a big fan of Armstrong during his time on loan at Derby in the 2024/25 season when he played a key role in the club avoiding relegation from the Championship.
He scored a wonderful goal in a 3-2 win at Plymouth and when asked about his future after helping Derby stay up, the teenager said he would love to return.
"Yeah, I'd definitely be interested to come back here. It's a great club, great fan base, staff, I think there's talks to be had and discussions.
“Playing men's football, the experience of it, it's game understanding. It's very hard to grasp it until you do it pretty much but I think it's taught me going into a new changing room, away from home, it's taught me a lot of things."
Derby have already bolstered their midfield this summer with the arrival of Bobby Clark on a £6m deal from RB Salzburg and more signings are expected.
A centre-back and a centre forward are on the agenda as the club looks to offset the blow of Patrick Agyemang's absence until Christmas due to an Achilles injury.
They have been linked with a move for Senegal striker Bamba Dieng who is currently on World Cup duty with his country. He is a free agent after leaving Lorient.
