Arsenal Are Targeting £52M Rated South American Ace Who Cesc Fabregas Has Described As A "Special Player"

**Arsenal are interested in signing Real Madrid attacking midfielder Nico Paz, according to reports in the Italian media.**

The Spanish giants recently triggered their buyback option on the Argentinian international, who has been playing for Como over the last two seasons.

However, Real have no intention of keeping Paz. They have offered him back to Como, and Serie A side are said to be ready to pay the €60m (£52m) required to secure his services.

If the deal for 21-year-old isn’t finalised, though, [_TMW_](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/inter-succede-nico-paz-adesso-scenari-fantasista-2247613) have named the Gunners, Manchester United, Tottenham and Serie A champions Inter Milan as his other potential suitors.

Paz has been described as “special”

-----------------------------------

The attacking midfielder has been playing under former Arsenal player Cesc Fabregas. Speaking a few months after Paz’s arrival at Como, shortly after he received his first senior cap for Argentina in October 2024, Fabregas said:

“He’s a special player and he must be free to express himself.”

Over the past two years, Paz has racked up 19 goals and 17 assists in 75 appearances, so it is not a surprise that he is in such high demand.

Rogers remains the top target for Arsenal

-----------------------------------------

Paz is ostensibly a no.10, and the Gunners are already looking at Aston Villa’s [**Morgan Rogers**](https://goonernews.com/blog/arsenal-transfer-news-bradley-barcola-morgan-rogers/) to fulfil that role. Some have suggested that the England international would be deployed on the left wing, but he could just as easily replace captain Martin Odegaard, who has been tipped to leave the Emirates by respected sources.

It may well be the case that if a move for Rogers proves to be too expensive, an approach will be made for someone Paz instead. As it stands, Como do still appear heavy favourites to sign the player, so we shall have to wait and see whether they do pay what would be a club record fee.
