Liverpool target Yan Diomande has revealed that he prefers to move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) over joining the Reds this summer, as per reports. RB Leipzig star Diomande is one of the most in-demand players in Europe after a stellar campaign in Germany.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Diomande has made his future plans clear to his suitors by revealing that he favours a move to Paris over England. The 19-year-old appreciates the project in place in France better than any other ones available, and is willing to join the European champions.
Liverpool made Diomande their number one target to replace the departing Mohamed Salah this summer after watching the teenager impress in Germany. His electric pace and ability to operate on either flank made him their primary target, but he appears to be uninterested in a move to Anfield.
Yan Diomande joined Leipzig from Leganes in a €20 million deal last summer, and the German side have turned down an offer of over €100 million from Liverpool this summer. He recorded 20 goal contributions in 33 league games in Germany and has been impressive for Ivory Coast at the FIFA World Cup.
PSG are now expected to have a free run at Diomande, having previously made it clear that they would only move for him if he prioritized them. The sale of Goncalo Ramos to AC Milan means that they will be able to sign another attacker this summer, and it could well be the Ivorian sensation.
Liverpool eyeing another Bundesliga star as Diomande alternative: Reports
Liverpool are keen on signing another winger this summer and have lined up Germany international Said El Mala as a potential addition, as per reports. The Reds appear set to concede defeat in their pursuit of Yan Diomande, who was their primary target to strengthen their attack.
German publication Fussballdaten has now reported that El Mala has emerged as a target for Andoni Iraola's side. The FC Koln man is expected to change clubs this summer, and is wanted by several clubs across Europe, including Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund.
El Mala scored 13 goals and provided four assists in Bundesliga for his club in the 2025-26 season and only just missed out on a place in the Germany squad for the FIFA World Cup. The 19-year-old would be a second addition on the flanks for the Reds, who have already completed a deal for Spain international Victor Munoz.
