Reports indicate that Diomande “believes in the project” at the Parisian club and “wants to play for head coach Luis Enrique.”
Furthermore, Ornstein adds that the young winger sees a move to the Parc des Princes as “giving him the best opportunity to consistently compete for trophies and potentially become a future Ballon d’Or winner.” The opportunity to join the back-to-back European champions proved to be an irresistible temptation for the rising star, who was also said to be “swooned by PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s project.”
The gaping void left by Mohamed Salah
Diomande’s decision leaves Liverpool in a high-stakes predicament. The club viewed the Ivorian international as the primary heir to Mohamed Salah following the Egyptian icon’s departure at the end of the 2025/26 season.

While Diomande’s decision is an early blow to Iraola’s transfer planning, the Spaniard has been proactive in the window, already adding another winger to his ranks with his countryman Victor Munoz.
