Marco Palestra is set to finalise his move to Stamford Bridge as the first new arrival of the Xabi Alonso era, with Pep Chavarria now eyed as a Marc Cucurella replacement amid reports that Malo Gusto has agreed to join Manchester City. Arsenal plot huge Morgan Rogers bid
Arsenal are believed to be preparing a massive opening offer for Morgan Rogers.
Standard Sport reported last week that the Gunners had made the Aston Villa and England star their top transfer priority for the summer as they step up their long-held interest in his signature.
Football Insider claim that Arsenal are now plotting a huge first bid for Rogers, who started for England against Panama at the World Cup on Saturday night.
It is thought that any move for the 23-year-old would have to be worth in excess of £100m.

Diomande in PSG talks
PSG have opened direct talks with RB Leipzig over the transfer of Yan Diomande.
The two clubs are reported to have a positive relationship, and PSG are confident of striking a deal after it was revealed the player would prefer to move to Paris than Liverpool.
New Chelsea target
Chelsea are interested in Rayo Vallecano left-back Pep Chavarria, per reports.
The young Spaniard could be brought in as a reinforcement following the sale of Marc Cucurella, though he would not come in as a first choice, with Jorrel Hato in line for a promotion to No1.
Coventry eye Bundesliga talent
Coventry City are in ‘advanced negotiations’ over the transfer of Eintracht defender Aurele Amenda.
The 22-year-old is himself in talks with the club and is keen on the move, while Frankfurt are happy to sell.
He is currently representing Switzerland at the World Cup.
New Chelsea talks
Chelsea and Sunderland will hold talks on Monday over the prospective transfer of Granit Xhaka.
The Black Cats rejected an £8m bid for the player on Sunday.
Per reports from Sky Germany, the deal is difficult, as Sunderland have no intention whatsoever of selling up, but it is not yet off.
Xhaka wants the move.
Chelsea bid for Xhaka rejected
Standard Sport reported on Wednesday that Chelsea had taken Sunderland by surprise by making Xhaka a summer transfer target.
Sunderland insist their captain is not for sale at any price.
The fee Chelsea offered to Sunderland was influenced by the fact Xhaka turns 34 in September and has two years left on his contract.

Liverpool learn Diomande preference
Yan Diomande has chosen Paris Saint-Germain as his preferred next club, snubbing transfer interest from Liverpool.
The RB Leipzig winger, who is currently representing the Ivory Coast at the World Cup, has been central to one of the key storylines of this transfer window as the Reds, now under the premiership of Andoni Iraola, scramble to replace the departing Mohamed Salah.
But as they looked to court the player, Liverpool faced competition from Paris Saint-Germain, to which they have now succumbed.

Newcastle offer Arsenal target Guimaraes
Newcastle are preparing to offer Bruno Guimaraes a bumper new contract to ward off interest in him from Arsenal.
The Sun report the Toon are prepared to increase his wages from £160,000 to £200,000 a week, after it was reported Arsenal had a £55m bid for the midfielder, 28, turned down earlier this week.
Teammate Sandro Tonali is also on the verge of a move, with Tottenham reportedly ready to commit £100m for the Italian.
Newcastle have already sold Anthony Gordon to Barcelona for £69m.
Ugarte injury may scupper United's Fernandes plan
Manuel Ugarte is rumoured to be out for the next 9-12 months, in news that could complicated Manchester United’s transfer plans.
The midfielder twisted his knee while playing for Uruguay, as they lost to Spain and were eliminated from the World Cup.
Now, reports are suggesting he could be out for a year.
The Red Devils wanted to move Ugarte on for around £40m, but will now struggle to do so.
This means the club will have less money to play around with on wages and transfer fees on signings like West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes.
Whether this prevents from signing Fernandes or other targets is unknown, but it is a less than ideal development for United, who have qualified for next season’s Champions League.
