Liverpool are very attentive to"extraordinary"£51.7m Champions League-winning midfielder

Liverpool are still reportedly keen on signing Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga this summer, amid doubts over his future in Spain.

The 23-year-old’s stock has arguably fallen over the past 12 months, following a disappointing season for Madrid that played a part in him failing to make France’s 2026 World Cup squad.

Camavinga has been linked with a summer move to Liverpool in recent days, with journalist Sacha Tavolieri providing a key update on his future:

“According to our information, Real Madrid are open to a sale should a convincing offer be made, with a price tag of around €80 million. A significant sum, but still within reach for several top European clubs. Behind the scenes, things are heating up. Camavinga’s agency, CAA Stellar, has already made contact with several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Arsenal, two teams looking to strengthen their midfield.”

Now, Mundo Deportivo report that Liverpool remain very attentive to Camavinga, new Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is happy to move him on this summer.

The Frenchman is valued at £51.7m by the Spanish giants, but the one issue is that he remains keen on staying put there moving forward.

Eduardo Camavinga could reignite his career at Liverpool

As mentioned, Camavinga has struggled for top form of late, but he is a Champions League winner with Madrid, being lauded by his former manager Carlo Ancelotti:

“He’s a player with extraordinary qualities. He can play anywhere on the pitch, he’s special. He can play as a midfielder, or as a defender.”

Still only 23, there is a lot to admire about Camavinga, from his left-footed elegance on the ball to his work ethic – he completed 92.1% of his passes across 11 Champions League appearances last season – and he can also fill in at left-back, when required.

If Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola believes the France international can suit his style of play, he could be a shrewd signing if he hits top gear again, which feels more than possibly.

There would be a slight risk, given his recent struggles at Madrid, but prior to that, he was a fantastic young player who was more than holding his own at one of the world’s biggest clubs.
