Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool are among the clubs battling for Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi this summer.
On June 13th, we relayed news that Arsenal are trying to convince the 18-year-old to pick them over Paris Saint-Germain.
Two days ago, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain that Manchester City are ahead in the transfer race. Liverpool have now joined the Premier League duo in the race to sign the midfielder.
PL trio make approaches
Monday’s edition of AS have a report on him titled: ‘Battle for Bouaddi’s signing’.
Within the report, the newspaper claims the Morocco international has sparked a bidding war among the top European clubs.
Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, PSG, Real Madrid and Barcelona are closely watching him and highly value his potential. The Champions League winners are keen on signing him but have to be wary of the tough competition from the Premier League.
The aforementioned three clubs are ‘leading the pack from England’, and all of them have contacted Lille to ask about Ayyoub Bouaddi’s price.
Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool don’t want to miss out on the young talent. The battle for his signature has already started and Lille have set an €80m price.
Lille look for specific deal
RMC Sport also claims Ayyoub Bouaddi is attracting interest from top European clubs.
Manchester City and Manchester United are looking at him while both Arsenal and Bayern Munich have reestablished contact for a potential deal. There’s no mention of Liverpool.
PSG appreciate the player’s profile but are no longer in the transfer race because they have no plans to sign a midfielder. This should come as an encouragement for the Premier League sides.
Lille president Olivier Létang would prefer to sell him for a minimum price of €70m. This can rise if he were to extend his impressive run at the World Cup.
Létang would also like to have the Moroccan return on loan for a season so that he can continue his development. That is surely unlikely if a club agrees to pay €70m or more.
His suitors have to convince him first to stand a chance to win the battle for his signature. With a contract until 2039, Transfermarkt value Bouaddi at €50m.
