Former Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca has been appointed the new manager of Manchester City, replacing Pep Guardiola.
Maresca previously managed City's Under-21s side in the 2020/21 season before returning as Guardiola's assistant in their famous treble-winning campaign. He joined Leicester in the summer of 2023 and led the club to the Championship title before jumping ship to Chelsea.
After winning the Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup, Maresca left his role at Stamford Bridge in the new year. Now, he has been confirmed as the new manager at the Etihad and has been tasked with the ultimate job of taking over from Guardiola.

"Manchester City is a club I know very well and to have the chance to manage this team is a brilliant opportunity for me," he said.
“City is an incredibly well-run football club. Everything they do is innovative, planned and purposeful. For a manager, that is a dream situation. It provides the consistency I need to do my job effectively.
“This will be my third spell here. I know this Club, I know the demands and I know the expectations. The quality of the people who work here is what makes it so special, and I want to thank them for showing faith in my ability.

Man City had initially aimed to announce Maresca's appointment sooner but they had to negotiate compensation with Chelsea. It's claimed that an eight-figure sum has been agreed between the two clubs.
Maresca is a fan favourite at the King Power Stadium and was invited to return to the Midlands last season. Alongside coaches Danny Walker and Willy Caballero, Maresca watched City lose 2-0 to Norwich City in February.
