Liverpool are in"secret talks"to sign player who's been compared to Gareth Bale

Liverpool are claimed to be in “secret talks” to sign highly-rated Bournemouth forward Rayan this summer, as well as Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola.

It looks as though the Reds will miss out on the signing of rumoured priority wider target Yan Diomande, whose preference appears to be reigning European champions PSG, according to the reliable David Ornstein:

“Yan Diomande chooses Paris Saint-Germain as next destination if he departs RB Leipzig this summer. 19yo said to believe in PSGproject led by Al-Khelaifi / Campos / Enrique + wants chance to lift trophies regularly & win Balon D’Or.”

With Victor Munoz brought in from Osasuna, Liverpool must continue to eye up at least one more winger in the coming weeks and months, if not two, and an exciting update has emerged in that respect.

According to a respected source on X, Liverpool are in talks to sign both Bournemouth star Rayan and two-time Champions League winner Barcola ahead of next season:

“Liverpool are in SECRET TALKS to snatch Bradley Barcola AND Rayan in a jaw-dropping DOUBLE TRANSFER! They KNEW days ago Yan Diomande was a NO-GO… and slammed the brakes on paying OVER THE ODDS.”

How good could Rayan become at Liverpool?

This is such a promising transfer claim, with Rayan and Barcola wide players with the pace, unpredictability and end product to light up Anfield for many years, following a season of struggles in that area with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo.

The Bournemouth star has already shone under Andini Iraola, scoring five goals in the Premier League in 2025/26, being compared to Gareth Bale by Jermain Defoe, and earning this praise from pundit Danny Murphy:

“The pace, the power, the positivity, and the finish there on his so-called weaker foot will do him the world of good to score on your first full game for your club and get the fans on board. He looks a super talent.”

Still only 19 years of age like Diomande, Rayan could have a massive future ahead of him at club level and for Brazil – he has one assist at the 2026 World Cup to date – and he could ultimately be a perfect alternative to the RB Leipzig and Ivory Coast winger.
