West Ham are interested in snapping up FC Midtjylland forward Franculino Dju, according to reports.

Writing on The West Ham Way Patreon, ExWHUEmployee said that the 22-year-old has been on the London club’s radar for quite some time.

The Hammers could potentially make a move for Franculino this summer, with doubts over the futures of several strikers.

However, there is believed to be more than one Premier League club looking at the Guinea-Bissau international as well.

It means West Ham would not be favourites in any battle to secure the player’s services.

Who else is interested in buying Franculino?

Everton and Fulham are the two teams currently weighing up a move for the striker. However, it is believed that both Liverpool and Arsenal have also scouted him over the last year.

What may stop some suitors from making bids for Franculino is his recent injury record. He was forced to undergo knee surgery at the end of last year, and he had a second spell out with knee problems back in May, about a month after his return to action.

That may give West Ham the opportunity they need to win the race for the player if others are not willing to take a risk on him.

West Ham could soon have just one senior striker

Callum Wilson’s contract expires on Wednesday, and while negotiations are underway to keep him at the London Stadium, no agreement has been reached up until now.

ExWHUEmployee has already confirmed that the Irons are contemplating Niclas Fullkrug’s departure on a free transfer.

There are also reports that AC Milan are keen signing Taty Castellanos, which could leave head coach Nuno Espirito Santo with just Pablo as his only centre-forward. The 22-year-old did not score in 17 appearances for the club last season. In that context, you can understand why Franculino is being looked at.
