Chelsea have already raked in north of £70m from three deals this summer, and by the end of the week, that figure could be closer to £100m thanks to the sale of Tyrique George.
This summer, Marc Cucurella has left the club in a deal worth £52m including add-ons. It is believed Real Madrid have paid Chelsea an initial £47.5m, while Cucurella’s departure represents a £17.5m book profit.
Who will be a bigger success – Enzo Maresca or Xabi Alonso? 🤔
City have confirmed Maresca will replace Guardiola.
Then, Chelsea have also cashed in on youngster Jimmy-Jay Morgan with the playmaker moving to West Brom for a £4m permanent fee. An influx of £17m has also been received in compensation from Man City.
That comes after City confirmed the appointment of Enzo Maresca as manager. Now, Chelsea’s hopes of trimming their squad will continue this week, with the permanent sale of Tyrique George to Everton.
Everton are progressing in talks to sign Tyrique George
After only 11 senior appearances for Chelsea during the first half of the season, 20-year-old Chelsea man George joined Everton on loan in January. A deal included a permanent clause worth £25m.
He played a further 11 times for Everton, and while he failed to score or assist for David Moyes’ side, the winger has clearly impressed the Toffees boss. Everton are set to sign Boro midfielder Hayden Hackney.

Now, according to The Athletic, Everton are progressing in talks to sign George from Chelsea. The time to activate his permanent clause has passed, but Everton remain in negotiations with Chelsea for George.
It is believed a deal could now be concluded by the end of the week, and while a fee will not see Chelsea receive an influx of £25m into the coffers, a deal could reach that figure if all the add-ons are met.
Chelsea’s Financial Fair Play position receives a massive boost
George first caught the eye at a senior level during Chelsea’s Europa Conference League run, with Maresca giving George a chance. But for Chelsea fans, his name first came to light in the Under-18s.
George had a hand in 24 goals in 39 games for the U18 side before progressing into the second string and then the first team. George has been in Chelsea’s academy since 2014, joining aged just eight.
What is a fair price for Tyrique George? 🤑
It means that any sale is pure profit for Chelsea and their Financial Fair Play position. The Blues have been known to sell homegrown players purely to boost the FFP standing, but actually, this is a very good deal.
Chelsea might not have received the £25m fee up front, but given his lack of goal or assist at Everton, to get that fee with add-ons is impressive. A big deal that gives Chelsea room to spend this summer.
