Tonali set for huge Tottenham payday

Tottenham have offered Sandro Tonali a six-year contract worth £275,000 per week.

That’s according to The Mirror, who report that the contract would make him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.

Though there have been suggestions that Harry Kane’s highly incentivised contract would have seen him pocket more.

Newcastle are demanding £100m for the Italian, but personal teams between the player and Spurs are not understood to be an issue.

If Spurs meet this valuation, the midfielder will be on his way to Roberto de Zerbi’s team.

Liverpool step up Barcola interest as Diomande eyes PSG

Liverpool could turn attentions to Bradley Barcola after receiving a major blow in their pursuit of Yan Diomande.

The Reds had been hoping to pull off a big-money deal for RB Leipzig and Ivory Coast star Diomande to follow their surprise capture of Spain winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna earlier this month.

However, it was widely reported last night that the 19-year-old wants to join Paris Saint-Germain and has an agreement on personal terms with the reigning French and European champions, with club-to-club negotiations underway.

It has been suggested by talkSPORT that Liverpool could now step up their interest in PSG’s Barcola instead, with Said El Mala of Cologne and Matias Fernandez-Pardo of Lille also said to be potential alternatives to Diomande.

Cristian Orozco set for Man Utd medical

Cristian Orozco looks set to complete his transfer to Manchester United.

A deal to take the highly-rated teenage midfielder from Colombian outfit Fortaleza FC to Old Trafford was first agreed last year.

Man Utd reached a pre-contract agreement for Orozco to join the club when he turns 18 this summer.

Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra recently reported that the player would travel to the UK on Sunday, accompanied by United’s lead scout in South America, Giuseppe Antonaccio.

He added that Orozco would undergo a medical ahead of being officially announced as a United player likely around the time of his 18th birthday, which is on July 13.

Chelsea yet to lodge bid for Lacroix

Chelsea have yet to make a bid for Maxence Lacroix.

The Crystal Palace centre-back is high on the list of summer transfer targets for the new Xabi Alonso era at Stamford Bridge.

Reports over the weekend suggested that a deal for Lacroix - currently away at the World Cup with France - was close to being agreed, with Chelsea stepping up their push for signings amid the pursuit of Sunderland captain Granit Xhaka and imminent arrival of Italy wing-back Marco Palestra from Atalanta.

However, Standard Sport understands that the Blues have not yet submitted an offer for the 26-year-old and are continuing to evaluate targets.

Aston Villa set huge Rogers asking price

Aston Villa have placed a British record £130million valuation on Morgan Rogers amid interest from Arsenal.

The Telegraph report that Villa are determined to keep the England international and believe he is worth more than Elliot Anderson, whose £116m move to Manchester City recently set a new benchmark.

Their valuation would surpass Liverpool’s £125m signing of Alexander Isak and reflects Middlesbrough’s 20 per cent sell-on clause.

Arsenal, and Chelsea, must now decide whether to meet Villa’s asking price.

DONE DEAL

Hayden Hackney is set to join Everton.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Everton will pay an initial £16.5million fee to Middlesbrough plus £8million in add-ons.

An official announcement is expected later this week.

Liverpool handed key transfer boost

Bradley Barcola is reportedly “pushing” to leave Paris Saint-Germain, having been identified by Liverpool as a key transfer alternative to Yan Diomande.

Liverpool had hoped to secure a blockbuster deal for long-term target Diomande this summer to follow the surprise £34.5million capture of Spain winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna as the Reds retool their attacking options under new head coach Andoni Iraola in the wake of Mohamed Salah’s exit.

However, news emerged on Sunday that the highly-rated Ivory Coast winger, 19, had a preference to join rival suitors PSG instead and had already reached an agreement with the reigning French and European champions over personal terms.

PSG were said to have entered into club-to-club negotiations over Diomande with Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, who are expected to demand a fee in excess of €100million (£86m) for their top asset.
