Liverpool transfer news LIVE: Bradley Barcola'pushing'for exit, Said El Mala offer, 4 players exit World Cup

Monday turned out to be a bad day for Liverpool's players at the World Cup, with four Reds returning much earlier than expected.

Although Alisson Becker and Brazil survived a scare against Japan, Florian Wirtz and Germany were sent packing in controversial circumstances by Paraguay after defeat in a penalty shootout.

Then, just a few hours later, Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo were knocked out in the same fashion as the Netherlands fell to defeat to Morocco from the spot.

Their pain will be Andoni Iraola's gain though, with the new Liverpool boss set to get a good chunk of his squad back earlier in pre-season, while the Reds will be continuing to try and add some more new faces following the signing of Victor Munoz.

With Yan Diomande seemingly now out of the picture, the hunt for an alternative is on, and reports are already building on Bradley Barcola, with reports suggesting he's pushing for an exit from Paris Saint-Germain.

Meanwhile, Liverpool has a list of other alternatives, with one of those names - Said El Mala - also gaining interest from elsewhere in the Premier League.
