Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers is a key target for Chelsea this summer, but the England star is not going to come cheap.
Rogers is attracting interest from Chelsea and their London rivals Arsenal, but according to The Telegraph, Villa have slapped a hefty £130m price tag on the attacking midfielder.
It is a lot of money, money that could be used to improve multiple areas of Chelsea’s squad instead of just one. With that in mind, The Chelsea Chronicle has listed three players the club could sign for £130m.
What do you make of Chelsea’s interest in Maxence Lacroix?
Rafael Leao (£43m)
Chelsea need to sign a new attacker, hence their interest in Rogers. However, the Blues can get AC Milan’s Rafael Leao for a much smaller fee, while the Portuguese is probably much closer to the profile that they require.
Rogers can play on the left, but his best position is as a No.10, whereas Leao is a natural winger who is devastating in one-v-one situations.
One report has claimed that Leao could cost just £43m in this transfer window, with the 27-year-old looking for a new challenge.
Maxence Lacroix (£46m)
Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix could cost roughly the same as Leao as he continues to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
In fact, journalist Orazio Accomando is already reporting that Chelsea have agreed a £46m fee with Palace for Lacroix.
If true, Lacroix and Leao would not even take the Club World Cup holders past the £90m mark!

Mike Maignan (£34m)
As things stand, everything is pointing towards Robert Sanchez and Mike Penders being Chelsea’s first-choice and second-choice goalkeepers next season.
However, if the club do decide they want to sign a new shot-stopper, Leao’s Milan teammate Mike Maignan should be at the top of their list.
Where would Chelsea have finished if they signed Mike Maignan last summer?

Maignan has been linked with Chelsea in the past and could cost them as little as €40m (£34.4m), according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. That means Chelsea could sign Maignan, Lacroix and Leao for a total of £123m, which is less than what Rogers could go for this summer.
