Rumoured Liverpool transfer target Maghnes Akliouche has chosen the club he wants to join in the summer transfer window, according to a new transfer claim.
The Monaco winger is a hugely talented player with a potentially big future in the game, winning 10 caps for France and scoring 23 goals for his current club.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Akliouche in recent months, with one update saying that he is “almost certain” to move on this summer.
Now, TEAMtalk report that the 24-year-old has chosen his next destination ahead of next season, opting to seal a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
The reigning European champions are seen as the most inviting proposition for him over Liverpool and Manchester United, with the Ligue 1 giants “now advancing in talks over a deal with Monaco.”
The update adds that “intermediaries have maintained regular contact with Akliouche’s representatives throughout the summer” as Premier League clubs “assessed whether a deal could be possible”, but it looks as though a move to England is off the table.
Liverpool miss out on another top talent to PSG
PSG are proving to be a thorn in Liverpool’s side this summer, with RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande also to be joining them over the Reds as well as the £60m-rated Akliouche, with the latter called an “international-level” player by Adi Hutter.
In fairness, the two-time Champions League winners have huge appeal, having become Europe’s best team and playing eye-catching attacking football, so it is hard to begrudge him a move there.
It’s now a case of Liverpool continuing to look at wide options, as they aim to bring in at least one more winger alongside new signing Victor Munoz in the summer transfer window.
In fact, PSG wide man Bradley Barcola could end up being the man to come in at Anfield, should Diomande and Akliouche both seal transfers, and he could be a fantastic signing.
The France international is lightning fast, versatile, and most importantly has good end product, scoring 39 goals and registering 37 assists in 152 appearances for PSG.
That said, he is mainly a left-sided player, but Liverpool’s priority has to be bringing in a natural right-sided forward to make up for the loss of Mohamed Salah.
