Aston Villa value Morgan Rogers at a British record £130million.
That’s according to The Telegraph who say Villa consider their crown jewel to be worth not only more than England team-mate Elliot Anderson but £5m more than Alexander Isak who joined Liverpool last summer.
So far in this transfer window Anderson has been the big ticket item, a £116m purchase by Manchester City from Nottingham Forest.
But Rogers’ future has been the subject of intense speculation for several months, with Arsenal emerging as the front-runners but Chelsea and Manchester United also linked.
However, The Telegraph claim Villa do not want to sell the 23-year-old and are mindful of the fact Rogers’ value has a 20 per cent sell-on clause baked in from this transfer from Middlesbrough.
As things stand then Arsenal must decide if they can meet that valuation, or can bargain a determined Villa down.
