There is optimism a deal can be struck between Chelsea and Everton for the permanent signing of Tyrique George, with the two clubs in talks this week.
The 20-year-old winger spent the second half of the 2025/26 season on loan at the Hill Dickinson Stadium and despite only making 11 Premier League appearances (one from the start) for the Toffees, he left a positive impression on David Moyes. Chelsea inserted a £25million permanent clause in George's loan deal but Everton chose not to take that up.
However, sources say Everton chose not to trigger said clause and are instead negotiating a lower fee with the west Londoners for the Cobham graduate. George has just 12 months remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge, putting Chelsea in a weak position when it comes to a fee for the talented winger.

The London-born wide man has been on Chelsea's books since Under-8 level and came through the club's development centre programme. George made his senior debut for the Blues early in the 2024/25 season under Enzo Maresca but his time in west London looks set to come to an end.

George is expected to become the second official departure of Chelsea's summer transfer window following Marc Cucurella's move to Real Madrid. If George's move to Everton is completed then he will become the seventh deal - though some are yet to be officially confirmed by the club - of the Blues' window.
Geovany Quenda, Dastan Satpayev, Emmanuel Emegha and Valentin Barco are all pre-agreed deals set to arrive at Cobham this summer, while Marco Palestra's move from Atalanta is just awaiting its official announcement.
