There has now been a major update on Ayyoub Bouaddi's future at Lille, amid news Manchester City are now planning to hijack Manchester United.
Bouaddi is currently in North America representing Morocco at the World Cup, where he has started three of their four matches, most recently being given the nod in central midfield in the round of 32 match against the Netherlands, with his side prevailing on penalties.
Scout Jacek Kulig was also left impressed by the 18-year-old's performance in the Atlas Lions' 1-1 draw against Brazil in their opening match.
As such, it is perhaps no surprise Man United have already opened talks to sign the World Cup star, but they are far from alone in their pursuit.

Man City actively pursuing Ayyoub Bouaddi
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, in a report for GiveMeSport, Man City are now in active pursuit of Bouaddi, whose price tag could rise to £86m, amid rival interest from Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

As noted, United have already opened talks to sign the starlet, but their rivals are now plotting a hijack, as they are keen to bring in a new midfielder alongside Anderson.
Jacobs also shares the major news that Lille are now prepared to offload their prized asset, although they are hoping to keep him on loan for one more year.
Bouaddi could be long-term Rodri replacement
There have been suggestions Man City making a move for the Lille midfielder could be contingent on Rodri deciding to exit the Etihad Stadium.
The Spaniard's current deal is set to expire at the end of next season, and should he be unwilling to sign a new contract, Enzo Maresca's side may look to cash-in this summer.
Bouaddi averaged 5.8 recoveries per 90 in Ligue 1 last term, just shy of Rodri's average of 6.4 per 90 in the Premier League, while 2.3 tackles per 90 from the Moroccan maestro was very close to the Spaniard's 2.4.
At just 18, Bouaddi still has plenty of time to develop even further, and his ability defensively suggests he could be an excellent Rodri heir.
