Chelsea are bracing for new offers for Trevoh Chalobah as at least one Premier League club is considering hijacking his move to Como.
The Serie A outfit are currently most advanced in their interest, having seen a £23.3million offer rejected by Chelsea, but his availability has placed domestic rivals on alert.
After Como's opening bid was rejected, Premier League teams could take the opportunity to jump ahead in the queue, with the centre-back a highly-rated option.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that a number of Premier Legue clubs have been eyeing Chalobah and think very highly of him.
The centre-back's qualitied have also been recognised by Thomas Tuchel, who controversially called him up for England's World Cup squad following an injury to Tino Livramento.
With Chelsea keen to sell and to drive his price tag up, competition for his signature could be ideal, although Como are still considered the clear front-runners for a deal.
What is next for Trevoh Chalobah at Chelsea?
Football Insider exclusively revealed in February that Chalobah could leave Chelsea if a new senior centre-back arrives, despite having been a mainstay this season.
Xabi Alonso is expected to make sweeping changes as he aims to impliment his style of play on the squad, and the England international is a likely casualty.
His availability is believed to have placed a number of Premier League sides on high alert, and while no interest has been formalised, they could challenge Como.
"Chalobah has a number of admirers in the Premier League," Brown told Football Insider.
"There are a lot of clubs who will be aware of his availability and have been keeping an eye on his situation in case he is allowed to leave Chelsea, because he's very highly regarded.
"You can see that from Thomas Tuchel's decision to call him up for England, whatever you may think about it, it shows how highly these managers rate Chalobah.
"Obviously, Como have made the first move, but Premier League sides certainly have the finances to challenge there, and it may mean a better deal for Chelsea.
"They will be keen to make as much money as they can, so if one of these clubs comes in with a higher bid, there is every chance they could reach an agreement.
"It all depends on whether they're willing to make a move, because Como are already in talks, so they will have to do something soon if they want to beat them to a deal."
Which Premier League teams could make a move for Chalobah?
A number of Premier League clubs are believed to have been keeping tabs on Chalobah, and that interest has lingered, with the centre-back likely to be on the move.
He spent the first half of last season on loan at Crystal Palace, where he remains highly thought of, and the Eagles could be in the market for a centre-back this summer.
Aston Villa also showed an interest during the mid-season window, leading to Rosenior ruling out a move, and could reignite that interest due to his new-found availability.
Meanwhile, Leeds are believed to have been admirers of the centre-back, although he laughed of suggestions of a move to Elland Road following Chelsea's win in April.
Should any of those three teams decide to step up their interest, they could rival Como in their pursuit, although the Italian side are confident of doing a deal.
