**Brazil rescued victory from the jaws of defeat with a 2-1 win over Japan in a dramatic comeback amid a classic [World Cup](https://essential.football/worst-teams-world-cup/) encounter.**
A thrilling game with plenty of twists and chances at both ends, the Brazilians’ quality shone through in the end – though, for a moment, it looked like they might’ve been heading out.
Who were Canarinho’s best players on the day? Many of their players were hard to rank, given the mixed bag of their overall display, but we did our best!
Alisson never really looked settled in this one. Had little chance to deal with the goal, but likewise was frequently made to look uncomfortable.
He spilled the only save he did make in the game – in his defence, it was a well-struck shot that he would’ve done very well to hold onto.
A difficult game for Danilo for a number of reasons. He wasn’t given any cover by Brazil’s midfield or by Rayan, leaving him hopelessly exposed for much of the game.
He made one or two decent forays forward, but this is as much as we can give him – it was a poor game from the former [Manchester City](https://mancitynews.com/) man.
A tricky one, this. It is hard to commend any of Brazil’s backline for their defending, but Gabriel did play an excellent ball into Casemiro for their equaliser, so he does have that going for him.
Furthermore, one can forgive him a bit for looking unsteady in defence, given the lack of cover that his midfield were able to afford him.
Made a few few solid clearances, but no-one will ever mistake this for the best game of Marquinhos’ career. In fairness, it was never going to be.
Japan regularly breached Brazil’s lines, leaving him on the backfoot – under the circumstances, he probably did the best that he could.
