Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes is wanted by Arsenal and the player’s agent has done little to shush talk.
Although Arsenal have yet to make direct contact with Newcastle, the Magpies are reported to have rejected a £60million proposal that was put forward through intermediaries last week.
And two of the middlemen widely rumoured to be involved are super-agent Kia Joorabchian and Brazilian agent Giuliano Bertolucci, who Malavolta worked closely with when finalising Guimaraes’ £40million move from Lyon to Newcastle in January 2023.

Joorabchian has been involved in several Arsenal deals for several years, while Bertolucci is regarded as one of Brazil’s most influential agents, with the likes of Arsenal’s Gabriel and Manchester United’s Matheus Cunha on his roster.
Now read into this what you will, but Malavolta took the rather bold move of posing for a photo with the pair after they watched Brazil’s late 2-1 win over Japan in the last 32 of the World Cup.
While it may be innocent, Malavolta’s decision to post the image across social media hardly quiets matters, does it?
Bruno Guimaraes open to leaving Newcastle United
As reported by The Gazette, Guimaraes is seriously considering his future at Newcastle but sources close to the football club insist they won’t entertain offers for their captain.
The 28-year-old’s current contract runs until 2028 but the Magpies have an option of a further year, effectively tying down the player until 2029. But given the recent noise, club chiefs may look to negotiate a new and improved deal.
Guimaraes has gone on to achieve legendary status on Tyneside - although a summer exit could tarnish that - after becoming the first Newcastle captain since Bob Moncur in 1969 to lift a trophy by winning the Carabao Cup last year.
He also helped the club qualify for the Champions League in two of the last four years, however last season Eddie Howe’s side finished 12th in the Premier League, casting doubt over several players’ future.
Anthony Gordon has already gone to Barcelona and Sandro Tonali will be allowed to leave too, but the messaging around Guimaraes is that he is not for sale.
