Former West Ham United forward Robert Snodgrass has urged club captain Jarrod Bowen to remain at the London Stadium amid renewed speculation linking the England international with Premier League rivals CHELSEA, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Bowen, who has established himself as one of West Ham’s most influential players, continues to attract attention following another impressive campaign. His consistent performances, leadership and goal contributions have reportedly placed him on the radar of several of England’s biggest clubs during the summer transfer window.
Despite the ongoing transfer speculation, Snodgrass believes West Ham should do everything possible to keep hold of their captain. The former Scotland international argued that Bowen represents the type of player the club should be building around rather than considering for a sale.
Speaking about Bowen’s future, Snodgrass said keeping the forward would send a strong message about West Ham’s ambitions. He believes Bowen’s influence extends beyond his performances on the pitch, pointing to his leadership qualities and importance within the dressing room
He said: “Jarrod Bowen to Aston Villa or Everton? I think he did really well last season despite where West Ham finished.
“He has been the main man and his numbers have been really good for the last three years.
“If I’m Jarrod, I’m staying at West Ham. He is the captain and he is loved there. Signing a longer-term deal would show massive loyalty and togetherness. If they keep him and make the right signings, it shows a massive intent to go straight back up.”
West Ham view Bowen as one of the cornerstones of their long-term project. His contract places the club in a strong negotiating position, meaning any potential suitor would likely need to submit a substantial offer to tempt the Hammers into discussions.
For now, Bowen remains focused on preparations for the upcoming campaign, with West Ham seeking to make an immediate return to the Premier League.
