The summer window is heating up, and the latest news from Arsenal points to a major exit. The Gunners are ready to sell Gabriel Jesus at a reduced price. Clubs across Europe have taken notice, and the race to sign him is now wide open.

Gabriel Jesus available at cut-price fee

As reported by Football Insider, Arsenal have dropped their asking price to between £20m and £25m for the 29-year-old, following a tough 2025–26 season. That is a big step down from the £30m they originally wanted. Arsenal have had to adjust their expectations accordingly.

As reported by GIVEMESPORT, his contract runs out in 2027, and this summer is the last real chance to get a decent fee. He played 27 times last season across all competitions and scored six goals. That is not the output a title-winning club needs from its striker. There were some bright moments, but consistency was always the problem.

Competitions Matches Starts Goals Assists

Premier League 14 3 3 0

FA Cup 4 4 1 1

EFL Cup 3 1 0 0

UCL 6 1 2 0

Gabriel Jesus earns around £265,000 a week, making him one of the top earners at the club, as reported by GiveMeSport. Getting that wage off the books matters just as much as the transfer fee. Both reasons point firmly towards the exit door this summer. The club wants to reinvest, and holding onto a player in his final year makes little sense.

An open race as the Brazilian attracts wide interest

As reported by Football Insider, the race to sign him is now seen as fully open, with top European clubs and Brazilian sides all expected to show interest. Serie A has emerged as a serious option, with AC Milan among the clubs to have registered an interest.

As reported by CaughtOffside, Gabriel Jesus has also dropped a hint himself, telling Gazzetta dello Sport that he grew up watching Serie A and always dreamed of playing in Italy. He was careful not to say too much, but the intent was clear enough. His former club Palmeiras have also shown some interest, though nothing has moved forward there yet.

In the Premier League, Everton are the most likely domestic suitors. The Toffees have tracked the forward for some time now. David Moyes needs a striker badly. Their last reliable centre-forward was Romelu Lukaku, who left nearly a decade ago. The move makes sense from a footballing standpoint. But the wages could still be a sticking point for the Merseyside club.

Gabriel Jesus exit would reshape Arsenal’s attack

This move matters beyond just the fee it brings in. Gabriel Jesus is no longer part of Mikel Arteta’s plans, and any new striker will need to suit a system that has shifted a lot since 2022. The forward line at the Emirates needs a proper refresh this summer.

As reported by Sports Mole, Arsenal are pushing to sign Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, though getting a deal done looks very difficult. If that move fails, the Gunners will need another solution up front. Either way, the attack is set for a significant change. How Arteta reshapes it will define a big part of their 2026-27 season.

He arrived in 2022 as one of Arsenal’s marquee football signings, and four years on, the club appears ready to move forward without him. Gabriel Jesus helped turn the Gunners into genuine title contenders, and his role in their first Premier League trophy in 22 years deserves real credit. But his time in north London looks to be coming to a close. A fresh start suits both club and player now.
