Arsenal are keeping tabs on PSG winger Bradley Barcola after being quoted a mammoth £130million for top target Morgan Rogers.
The Gunners are looking to bolster their options in the final third and had set their sights on the England star. Those at the Emirates believed they were leading the race, but have discovered how much it'll cost to land the playmaker.
Villa want a fee that would exceed the British-record amount that Liverpool paid for Alexander Isak last summer, and as a result have had to consider alternatives with Barcola on their radar.
Arsenal have had an interest in the Frenchman and the BBC report that they'll be watching him when he plays for France in their World Cup knockout match against Sweden on Tuesday night.
The 23-year-old was just part of the PSG outfit that downed the Gunners in the Champions League final, but his future could hinge on whether the Parisians secure a deal for Yan Diomande, the RB Leipzig winger who is tipped for a mega move this summer.
Barcola could be pushed down the pecking order if the Ivorian signs - and if PSG are willing to listen to offers for him, then Arsenal would be keen. As would Liverpool, who want a replacement for Mohamed Salah, who has just left Anfield.
Arsenal could ultimately be priced out of a move for Rogers, who has just enjoyed his best season to date starring for Villa, who won the Europa League. Villa don't want to lose him and also know they need to give 20 per cent of any fee to Middlesbrough, whom they signed him from.

A host of Premier League clubs have also hiked the valuations of their players off the back of Elliot Anderson's £116m move to Manchester City. Villa believe Rogers is a more valuable player, with their price tag reflecting that.
Arsenal are keen to build on their title success last term, with Mikel Arteta saying: "We'll start to make some very important decisions, we want to reach another level.
"We're going to have to show that ambition because they are more than capable of doing it but it's going to demand us to be very, very ambitious, very fast and very smart."
