Liverpool have officially parted ways with 12 players. Several weeks ago, the Reds confirmed their retained and released list ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
While a number of academy players have left the club following the expiry of their contracts, three high-profile names stood out in particular: Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate, all of whom were out of contract at the end of this month and had already made their forthcoming exits public.
The trio, along with the other nine players, officially left the club as their contracts expired at the stroke of midnight. Scotland international Robertson is set to join Tottenham Hotspur, while French centre-back Konate has put pen to paper at Real Madrid.
Where Salah will be plying his trade next season remains uncertain. The three exits mean Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola appears to have slashed a staggering £710,000 a week from the club's wage bill, which will bolster their pursuit of new signings this summer. Konate was reportedly earning £150k per week at Liverpool.
Robertson, meanwhile, was said to be taking home £160,000 a week. Salah, who had penned a fresh two-year deal with the Reds in 2025, was believed to be commanding a remarkable £400,000 per week.
Academy graduates Kareem Ahmed, Emmanuel Airoboma, James Balagizi, DJ Bernard, Oakley Cannonier, Josh Davidson, Terence Miles and Jacob Poytress will all leave Anfield. Defender Rhys Williams, who featured prominently at the heart of the Reds' backline alongside Nat Phillips during the 2020/2021 campaign amid a notorious injury crisis, has also departed.
It's not solely about departures at Liverpool, though. While the club appears to have missed out in the pursuit of Yan Diomande, with the Ivory Coast winger reportedly preferring a switch to European champions PSG, they have kicked off their summer business with the signing of Victor Munoz.

The Spanish winger cost the Reds £34.5million from Osasuna. Liverpool had long been monitoring Munoz and his abilities, having watched him make two senior outings at Real Madrid before establishing himself as a full Spain international, but it was the presence of a release clause that accelerated proceedings.
Spread across a six-year contract, the £34.5m fee amounts to just £5.75m per year for the Reds, which represents a reasonable outlay for a player with the capability to develop into a first-team regular at Anfield.

"I've been focused on the World Cup, so I didn't want to hear much about my future unless it was something clear," Munoz said. "Liverpool is an opportunity you can't miss.
"It all took place very quickly. Iraola transmitted his confidence to me, how his team plays. He had an important role when it came to choosing."

Amid a number of departures from Liverpool, the club has also confirmed that contract offers have been extended to Prince Cisse, Keyrol Figueroa, Kyle Kelly, Afolami Onanuga, Oliver O'Connor, Lucas Pitt, Ben Trueman and Matthew Wright.
Paying tribute to those heading for the exit door, a statement on Liverpool's official website read: "Everybody at the club would like to thank the players for all their contributions and wish each of them the best for the future."
