Liverpool have received an unexpected boost ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
With Alexander Isak, Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo and Florian Wirtz all now confirmed to be out of the World Cup, the five players will benefit from a full pre-season under Andoni Iraola before the Premier League gets underway.
While every player would have preferred to remain in the tournament, their early exits could ultimately work in Liverpool’s favour.
