Chelsea are reportedly nearing an agreement with Everton over the permanent transfer of academy graduate Tyrique George following the winger’s successful loan spell at Goodison Park during the second half of last season.
According to the latest reports, discussions between the two Premier League clubs have progressed positively, with Everton keen to secure the young forward on a long-term deal after he impressed club officials and coaching staff during his time on Merseyside.
While the transfer has yet to be finalised, negotiations are believed to be at an advanced stage.
George, regarded as one of CHELSEA‘s promising academy products, joined Everton on loan in search of regular first-team football. The move proved beneficial for all parties, with the youngster enjoying valuable senior experience and demonstrating the attacking qualities that made him highly rated within Chelsea’s youth system.
His performances reportedly convinced Everton that he is capable of playing a bigger role in their long-term plans. The club are understood to view George as a player with significant potential, whose pace, direct running and versatility across the front line could strengthen their attacking options for the coming seasons.
Chelsea’s willingness to sanction a permanent transfer reflects the increasingly competitive pathway into the first team at Stamford Bridge. With several established international players competing for attacking positions, opportunities have become limited for academy graduates hoping to secure consistent minutes at senior level.
Rather than risk George’s development through another season of sporadic appearances, Chelsea are believed to favour a move that would allow the youngster to continue his progress in the Premier League. As with several previous academy departures, the Blues are expected to negotiate favourable terms, potentially including a sell-on clause or other future protections.
Everton, meanwhile, continue to prioritise the recruitment of young domestic talent capable of contributing immediately while also offering long-term value. George’s familiarity with the club following his loan spell is viewed as a significant advantage, reducing the adaptation period that often accompanies new signings.
Although financial details of the proposed deal have not yet been disclosed, reports suggest both clubs are optimistic that an agreement can be reached without major complications. Personal terms are also not expected to present a significant obstacle should the transfer receive final approval.
Neither CHELSEAnor Everton has officially commented on the reports, and the deal remains subject to the completion of negotiations and the necessary formalities.
If completed, the transfer would mark another notable academy departure from Chelsea while providing George with the opportunity to establish himself as a permanent Premier League player.
For Everton, it would represent the signing of a young attacker whose successful loan spell has already demonstrated his potential to become an important part of the club’s future.
