Arsenal have reportedly accepted an offer from Turkish giants Beşiktaş for Belgian forward Leandro Trossard, with the player’s decision now expected to determine whether the transfer goes ahead.
According to multiple reports emerging from Turkey, Arsenal have agreed to a deal worth around €20 million (£17 million), although the exact structure of the package, including potential bonuses, remains unclear. Neither Arsenal nor Beşiktaş has officially confirmed an agreement.
The attacker is understood to be the subject of long-standing interest from the Istanbul club, who have intensified their pursuit in recent weeks as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
Reports suggest negotiations between the clubs have progressed significantly, leaving personal terms and the player’s approval as the remaining hurdles.
Trossard is currently focused on international duty with Belgium at the FIFA World Cup, and several outlets claim he is unlikely to make a final decision on his future until after the tournament concludes. The experienced winger is believed to be weighing his options carefully, with interest also reported from Saudi Arabia.
Arsenal‘s willingness to consider a sale is thought to be influenced by Trossard’s contract situation. The former Brighton & Hove Albion forward has just one year remaining on his current deal, making this summer the club’s final opportunity to command a significant transfer fee should he decide against signing an extension.
Since arriving at the Emirates in January 2023, Trossard has established himself as a valuable squad player under Mikel Arteta. His versatility across the front line and ability to contribute goals and assists have made him an important option, despite often competing for a starting place with Arsenal’s established attacking stars.
A departure would leave Arsenal with additional funds to continue reshaping their squad during the summer transfer window. The Gunners have already been linked with several attacking reinforcements, and Trossard’s sale could create further room in both the wage bill and the squad.
Despite reports that Arsenal have accepted Beşiktaş’s proposal, the transfer is not yet complete. The move remains dependent on Trossard agreeing personal terms and deciding that a switch to Turkey represents the next step in his career.
For now, Arsenal and Beşiktaş appear to have moved closer to an agreement, but the final outcome rests firmly in the hands of the Belgian international as speculation over his future continues.
