Alex Scott is a man in demand this summer. After enjoying a wonderful season in the Premier League with Bournemouth, during which the Cherries finished 6th in the league table, he could be set to leave the club in the coming months.
Several of the division’s top clubs are pursuing a deal for the 22-year-old. Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked – now, Manchester United are set to join the mix, after they failed to land Mateus Fernandes.
According to a report from journalist Ben Jacobs on X (formerly Twitter), United will ‘explore’ the possibility of bringing Scott to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window. He won’t come cheap, though – he is currently valued at an asking price of £80 million.

A report from TalkSPORT also indicates that Liverpool are thought to be in the race. This isn’t surprising, after he enjoyed so much success under Andoni Iraola – the Reds’ new head coach – last season.
Previously, as reported by the Bournemouth Echo, the Cherries have declared that Scott is ‘not for sale’ at any price. Arsenal have approached them, but this is the response that they were met with. On top of this, Bournemouth are also working to agree a new contract with Scott, which will contain a sizeable release clause.
Bournemouth rate Scott very, very highly. He was a key factor towards their success last season – let’s take a closer look at his statistics from the previous campaign.

Games Goals Assists Yellow Cards Red Cards
Alex Scott 37 3 1 5 0
On the face of it, Scott’s Premier League stats from 2025/26 may not look too impressive. Three goals and a single assist doesn’t make for inspiring viewing, but it doesn’t really tell the entire story.
Since the turn of 2026, Bournemouth only lost one game in the Premier League, which came against champions Arsenal on January 3 – and even then, they were only beaten by a one-goal margin. Scott played in every minute of every game following this (excluding their final game of the season), as the Cherries went on a stunning 17-game unbeaten streak.
This is no coincidence. They picked up some brilliant wins during this magical run, including a win against Arsenal in the reverse fixture – Scott actually scored in this game, too.
What Alex Scott will bring to his potential suitors
A fantastic playmaker who keeps the ball very well and moves it fluidly around the pitch, Scott is an absolute joy to watch when he is in full flow. One of the most graceful footballers in the Premier League, the potential that this young man possesses is truly limitless.
His range of passing is amongst the best in the world right now. Last season, he accumulated a successful passing percentage of 90.4% in the Premier League.
While his key strengths lie in his technical ability and intelligence on the pitch, he is no slouch from a defensive standpoint, always willing to get back and pitch in with the dirty work if he required to do so.
