Transfer hype for‘next Jude Bellingham’–Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City in there

Borussia Dortmund are preparing themselves for offers for Felix Nmecha, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United all watching him for a while.

Sport BILD report on the 25-year-old today and how Dortmund intend to make him ‘the next Jude Bellingham’ if he goes this summer.

Dortmund stance clear

The newspaper explains that the stance among Dortmund’s leadership is clear this summer. It is better to fear that a player leaves for a huge sum than not have such a player at all. Felix Nmecha is the perfect example.

The midfielder has impressed at the World Cup despite Germany’s early exit, and the interest is growing. Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have ‘long had him on their radar’. Sport Witness covered a report recently explaining why that may be the case.

The midfielder is increasingly in the spotlight and Dortmund’s bosses need to be prepared for a bid to arrive. The internal motto on that front is clear; Nmecha will become ‘the next Jude Bellingham’.

He left Dortmund in 2023 for a base fee of €103m. With bonus payments, that has now risen to €127m. It could reach €133m if he continues to be a success in Spain.

€100m plus needed

That model is the blueprint for a potential sale of Nmecha this summer. Dortmund are open to receiving part of the transfer fee for him in the form of bonus payments. However, they must be realistic to achieve.

This was the case with Bellingham, whose deal included €3m simply for Champions League qualification. The base fee will likely be around €100m, with add-ons then taking it beyond that. If a club offers a deal like the one for Bellingham, Nmecha will depart.

For now, it’s unclear if any of Liverpool, Manchester City or Manchester United will offer such a fee. But the poker is hotting up, and Dortmund are laying their cards on the table for all to see.
