A move to north London for Alex Scott has hit an early snag. Bournemouth have flatly rejected an approach for their prized midfielder. As per the latest transfer news, Arsenal are eager to strengthen their midfield this summer. But the south-coast club insists the player isn’t going anywhere yet.
Bournemouth Stand Firm on Alex Scott Amid Arsenal Interest
Bournemouth have made their stance clear this week. As reported by BBC Sport, Bournemouth turned down an enquiry from the Gunners. They insisted the 22-year-old is not for sale this summer, no matter the fee on offer. The champions’ title defence has clearly added pressure to strengthen the squad further.
The Premier League champions are hunting for fresh central midfield options. The composure and passing range of Alex Scott stand out. Many now see him as one of the most exciting young players in English football. He made close to forty appearances last season and scored four goals too. Bournemouth, however, are just as keen to protect their prized asset.

His current contract still has two years left to run. So the south-coast club holds real power in these talks. As a result, they are pushing hard for a fresh deal. As reported by GOAL, the deal could include a release clause rather than an outright exit this summer. This kind of standoff isn’t unusual across the modern game.

The rapid rise of Alex Scott explains why so many clubs have joined this race. He arrived from Bristol City and steadily grew into a genuine first-team fixture. The earlier report values him at close to eighty million pounds, a sharp rise from his original transfer fee back in 2023.
Meanwhile, his rise with**England** is moving just as fast. He earned his first senior call-up last November. Arsenal Turn Attention to Other Midfield Targets
With this route blocked for now, Arsenal have quietly widened their search. A deal for Guimaraes is currently seen as more realistic. That’s mainly because Tonali’s price tag remains a sticking point. Meanwhile, north London rivals Tottenham are reportedly closing in on Tonali themselves, which could push Arsenal toward other names entirely.
West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes and Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi also remain on the club’s radar. So this transfer window is unlikely to stay quiet for long. As reported by Football365, talks involving Alex Scott haven’t been shut down completely just yet. Even so, real progress currently looks unlikely before the picture becomes clearer in the weeks ahead.
