Two new Chelsea signings spotted in training ahead of official announcement

Chelsea are set for a busy summer under their new boss Xabi Alonso as he aims to prepare the squad for the upcoming season through his training methods in preseason and with fresh recruits.

The Blues struggled last season as they failed to qualify for European competition, with this partly being down to the exit of Enzo Maresca before Liam Rosenior struggled to get the best from the team.

Chelsea released a unique statement following Manchester City’s appointment of their former Italian manager, with the club expressing their happiness with the loyal Alonso.

The Spaniard will be pleased that the club are attempting to bring a vital cog to his Bayer Leverkusen side, Granit Xhaka, to Stamford Bridge by luring him away from Sunderland.

While the Blues will continue to work on several targets, including Xhaka and Felix Nmecha, whom they will battle Manchester United in order to acquire the signature of the Borussia Dortmund star.

Nmecha was a central part of the German World Cup campaign, demonstrating his ability at the highest level, even if the nation were eliminated at the round of 32 by Paraguay in shocking circumstances.

Fans of Chelsea will allow the club to get on with their transfer business, with it expected that Alonso will be having a say in recruitment.
