The last remaining member of Arne Slot‘s staff at Liverpool has confirmed his exit from the club, with Roderick van der Ham replaced on Andoni Iraola‘s backroom.

Van der Ham joined Liverpool in late 2024 as first-team tactical analyst, having previously served under Slot at Feyenoord for two years.

He played a key role on the Reds’ staff during his season-and-a-half at the club, but with the head coach dismissed at the end of May, the 35-year-old has now also moved on.

In a post on LinkedIn on Wednesday, Van der Ham announced his departure ahead of a raft of new appointments to Iraola’s staff.

“June has come to an end, and so has my time at Liverpool Football Club,” he wrote.

“It has been a privilege to work for such a club, but even more so to share every day with many great people. I’ve enjoyed all of it, without a single regret.

“To all the staff and everyone at the AXA Training Centre and Anfield: thank you for a period I’ll always look back on with so much joy and gratitude.

“Being part of the group that won the Premier League in 2024/25 was the highlight of it all, a wonderful memory I’ll carry with me.”

Who will replace Arne Slot’s staff?

Van der Ham’s move away from Liverpool comes with the club due to confirm the appointment of analyst Tom Webber this week.

Webber is set to join from Bournemouth along with assistant coaches Tommy Elphick and Shaun Cooper, as well as Iraola’s long-serving fitness coach Pablo de la Torre.

Deals have now been agreed for Elphick, Cooper and Webber to terminate their contracts at Bournemouth after lengthy talks with the south-coast club.

Liverpool were believed to be exploring the possibility of adding a former player to their backroom team this summer, though no further developments have been reported at this stage.

Thiago Alcantara has been positioned as the favourite among supporters but any progress in appointing the Spaniard would need to wait until after the World Cup, where he is currently serving as pundit for FOX Sports.

Slot left Anfield along with assistants Sipke Hulshoff and Giovanni van Bronckhorst and lead physical performance coach Ruben Peeters.

Van Bronckhorst has since been reinstalled as head coach of Feyenoord with Hulshoff his assistant, while Peeters is also a target to return to the Rotterdam club.

Meanwhile, Ronald Koeman’s resignation as Netherlands manager has led to growing calls for Slot – who has already turned down Fulham – to take over.
