Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool tussling for same signing– Player ‘going to’ PL

Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City are in the mix to sign Club Tijuana’s Gilberto Mora.

The 17-year-old’s rapid development saw him make debut for Mexico in 2025. He’s now representing them at the World Cup, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed in England.

Last month, Sport Witness covered claims from Mexico that both Manchester United and Arsenal sent scouts to follow him. Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City are also in the transfer chase.

De Telegraaf have a report on the attacking midfielder’s rise and also covers Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Gilberto Mora is a product of the Mexican club’s youth system and made his first team debut in 2024.

He managed 10 goals and two assists from 53 matches of which six goals and an assist are from this season. The teenager made headlines when he started in Mexico’s 2-0 win over Ecuador in Round of 32.

Mora became the second youngest player to start a World Cup knockout tie, behind Brazil legend Pelé.

The youngster hasn’t scored or assisted in the tournament yet, but his displays have attracted interest. Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City are named as clubs positioning themselves to secure his services.

Rafaela Pimenta manages the Mexico international. Her client list includes Manchester City star Erling Haaland, Manchester City’s Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui and several others.

De Telegraaf seem to have good ties with the representative and would have gathered the information about the five English clubs from Pimenta.

TNT Sports Mexico journalist Rodrigo Lara, relayed by AS Mexico, claims Gilberto Mora will move to the Premier League in 2027.

“In six months, during the winter transfer window, Gilberto Mora is going to take off, he’s going to compete, he’s going to be a Premier League player,” he said.

“I can’t say which team… Today, after the match against Ecuador and after the England game, things are going to move forward for Gilberto Mora. The information I have is that Gilberto Mora will play in the Premier League.”

The Mexican’s contract expires in 2029 and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is €10m.

Mora won’t be able to move to the UK until he turns 18 years of age in October.
