It’s been a busy few weeks at Burnley. The Clarets’ hierarchy are still scrambling to get their own dugout in order, with the search for a new permanent manager dragging on longer than many around Turf Moor expected.

One of their preferred options was former Reds forward Craig Bellamy.

However, those talks ultimately broke down, leaving Burnley back at square one and forcing the board to look elsewhere for a fresh direction.

They then turned their attention to highly‑rated coach Tommy Elphick. Burnley hoped to tempt Elphick into stepping up as a number one in his own right.

But Elphick had already set his heart on following Andoni Iraola to Anfield from Bournemouth, choosing to be part of the Spaniard’s backroom staff instead of taking the Turf Moor hot seat.

It has been reported that Elphick, alongside Shaun Cooper, fitness coach Pablo de la Torre and analyst Tom Webber have all now agreed to the Anfield switch.

Now there is more disappointing news for the Clarets.

Burnely academy goalkeeper Noah Evans has officially joined Liverpool.

The 16-year-old joins the scholarship group as its second shot-stopper, and who has both English and German roots.

It’s believed Evans signed a two-year scholarship deal and will be involved with the U18 side next season.

Evans posted his signing day on Instagram with the caption: “Let’s get started.”

It also comes at a time when Liverpool are stepping up efforts to revamp Kirkby base, with a major redevelopment already under way.

The £20 million project includes a full-size indoor pitch beneath a dome, a new two-storey wing for training, and new medical and sports science facilities. The work is expected to be finished by 2028.

It then looks like Liverpool are well setup for the future.
