Pellegatti: Van Dijk ‘fascinated’ by Milan idea – how a deal could be structured

AC Milan are considering a move for Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk this summer and it is ‘fascinating’ him.

There has been a lot said about Milan and their interest in various defenders so far this summer. However, the van Dijk links have emerged recently and it seems it would be a dream addition to the squad.

With that said, though, dreams can come true and the Rossoneri are making a case to change it from a dream to a potential opportunity.

Indeed, an offer is currently being considered, and the formula could be expensive but worthwhile for a defender who still remains among the elites.

Van Dijk possibility

Carlo Pellegatti spoke about the matter on his YouTube channel, via MilanNews, and the potential structure of the deal was looked at. More importantly, the player’s thought on a move to San Siro was looked at…

“Van Dijk is willing to talk to Milan about a possible transfer. The player is willing to discuss, talk, he’s intrigued by the possibility. As for the salary, he earns €13 million a year; Milan would spread it like this: they would give him €6-7 million for three years and then guarantee the player until 2029, so he’ll earn more.

“I don’t think anyone will give him €13 million next year. So this is Van Dijk’s situation regarding his salary. Milan would also be willing to pay €30 or €40 million for a player whose contract expires next year.”

It would be a major signing if the Diavolo were able to add van Dijk to the squad and it certainly seems like it could be less of a dream and more of a possibility now.
