Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest.

The midfielder becomes a club-record arrival for the Blues, who are paying a straight fee of £116million to land the 23-year-old.

Anderson is currently on England duty at the World Cup with the Three Lions facing Mexico in the last-16 this weekend.

City confirmed in a club statement that "the formalities of the move will be finalised upon his return to England."

He will link up with his new City teammates following the tournament and is set to be given four weeks off before linking up with the Blues.

He is unlikely to travel on the summer tour to Asia, with the first game taking place on August 1 against Inter Milan.

Anderson's City debut could come in the Community Shield against Arsenal on Sunday, August 16.
