Santi Cazorla has announced his retirement from professional football after an outstanding career, which included six years with us in north London.
The Spaniard became an immensely popular figure in his time at Emirates Stadium. Having signed in 2012, our no.19 hit the ground running with a standout performance against Liverpool at Anfield, recording his first goal and assist in a 2-0 win.
Santi continued to show quality and versatility throughout his time in N5, scoring 25 goals and setting up another 35 across 129 Premier League appearances.
He scored rockets like his emphatic strike against Liverpool, put the team on his shoulders when they needed him to, as he did with a hat-trick and assist in a 4-1 win over Reading, and he kept his cool under any and all pressure, converting crucial penalties against the likes of Newcastle and Manchester City.
