Liverpool have completed the signing of 16-year-old goalkeeper Noah Evans, who has put pen to paper on a scholarship deal after two others were released.
Evans is understood to have signed a two-year scholarship and will begin life with Liverpool U18s following his departure from Burnley.
The teenager’s arrival comes after the release of U18s stopper DJ Bernard along with U21s training goalkeeper Jacob Poytress, and is expected to be followed by the signing of Zach Trinder from Wolves.
Bernard has since signed a professional contract with Middlesbrough, who announced he had joined their U21s ranks on Wednesday.
Burnley made the decision to allow Evans to leave midway through last season, with the youngster having spent close to a decade in their youth ranks.
His availability alerted Liverpool’s recruitment team and he can be expected to work alongside the likes of Bailey Hall and Matty Wright next season.
It is a busy summer of business for the Reds’ academy, with deals already lined up for centre-back Dara Jikiemi, attacking midfielder Samuel Martinez and striker Michael Mulholland.
Along with Trinder, there are further efforts to sign Man City midfielder Xavier Parker, 16, Everton winger Josh Chigwada, 14 and Shamrock Rovers forward Joshua Holme, 14.
Nine academy players officially left the club on the expiry of their contracts on July 1, including Rhys Williams, Oakley Cannonier and James Balagizi.
Eight others were offered new contracts with defender Lucas Pitt and striker Keyrol Figueroa understood to have agreed terms.
Prince Kobe Cisse was announced to have signed his first professional contract in early June.

Liverpool were also successful in fending off interest from Man City, Man United and Chelsea to secure the long-term commitment of 15-year-old winger Josh Abe.
Abe has signed an initial scholarship deal along with reaching a pre-agreement for his first professional contract, which he is eligible for when he turns 17 next year.
The teenager has been allocated the No. 40 for the first-team squad and is expected to travel with Andoni Iraola‘s senior side for the pre-seaon tour of the United States.
