**Pedro Neto and Savinho have been linked with a move to Liverpool after a claim that the Reds are ‘back in bed’ with Jorge Mendes.**
Journalist Dave Davis, appearing on [_The Transfer Show_](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mn60c6OzdyM&time_continue=0&source_ve_path=NzY3NTg&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fanfieldindex.com%2F), has claimed that Manchester City’s Savinho and Chelsea star Neto have been internally discussed as options for Liverpool this summer.
Collectively, the pair just six Premier League goals last season, raising questions over what exactly their worth to Liverpool is.
“Everyone’s digging on the same thing, aren’t they? Who are Liverpool going to move for? It’s clear the wingers are the priority, and I’m saying that plural,” Davis started. “We’ve known that all summer. Liverpool are now on the alternate list.”
Savinho signing would be interesting despite attacking output worries
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Discussing Neto, who joined Chelsea for £51.6m from Wolves in 2023, Davis says Liverpool have been in touch with super agent Jorge Mendes, who represents the Portugal international.
“Liverpool seem to be back in bed with Jorge Mendes, whose client is Pedro Neto,” he stated, before adding: “He is very distinct, Neto, if I’m trying to be positive about this. He is a carrier, his passing is good. He is a crosser. The cross expected threat, 95th percentile. The cross value added, 93rd percentile.”
Davis reports that Neto would be keen to join Liverpool, adding: “Our info is getting this stood up today. Neto would jump at this. They nearly did him when he was at Wolves. You sometimes get things stood up, and you don’t want things to get stood up. Liverpool have asked City about Savinho.”
Why Savinho will be appealing to Andoni Iraola
----------------------------------------------
Iraola will manage his first Liverpool friendly on 26 July when they face Sunderland as the start of their pre-season journey. Before then, much attention must be paid to recruitment and player fitness.
One key area of the transfer focus this summer must be on increasing the ability on the wings, with 1v1 ability clearly a key factor in the plans for a new attacker this summer. Victor Munoz, signed from Osasuna for £34.6m, already increases the threat Liverpool have in terms of pace and running power.
However, the also need a truly elite 1v1 star. Yan Diomande is one, but he’s now headed for PSG, but Bradley Barcola is an interesting dynamic in this summer’s recruitment. He could be available due to his contract standoff with PSG, but on the opposite flank, Savinho is an intriguing option despite his one league goal in 2025-26.
