Andoni Iraola has made a positive start since being appointed Liverpool manager last month, reaching his first-month milestone this week after securing the club’s first summer signing in Victor Munoz.
Several key players have also left during his early tenure, including Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate, although all three departures were arranged before his arrival.
Transfer activity is expected to accelerate across clubs in the coming weeks. Elsewhere, AFC Fylde have officially announced the signing of former Liverpool defender Adam Lewis on a permanent deal from Chesterfield.
A club statement read: “Everyone at the club is delighted to welcome Adam back to the club, and we wish him all the best during the upcoming season.”
Lewis, who came through Liverpool’s academy, made his senior debut in the FA Cup against Shrewsbury Town after signing his first professional contract in 2019.
He later had loan spells with Amiens, Plymouth Argyle and Newport County as part of his development before leaving the club after 19 years following the expiry of his contract in the summer of 2024.
The full-back spent the 2024-25 season at Morecambe, making over 50 appearances and registering seven assists, before joining Fylde following a successful loan spell.
Speaking on his third summer signing, Head Coach Craig Mahon said: “We’re delighted to have brought Adam back to the club. “He came in last year and helped the club get over the line.
“He bought into everything we are about in terms of standards and the DNA of the football club, and we’re lucky to have someone of his quality signed up for the season.”
Adam Lewis added: “I’m buzzing to get the deal over the line, and I’m buzzing to be back. I know the lads very well now from the last few months and the Manager too, and I liked what he did last year, which was a big reason in my decision to come back. Hopefully I can bring my qualities, and we can hopefully have another good year.
He’s back 🤩
