Arsenal want him too: Man United 'open talks' with English club for 24yo World Cup star

Manchester United have “opened talks” with West Ham United for the transfer of Crysencio Summerville, as reported by journalist Ben Jacobs.

The Red Devils made an enquiry over the last few weeks and are prepared to table a £50 million bid for the winger.

United clearly rate Summerville very highly but the deal is still at an exploratory stage.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping a close eye on the talented winger.

The 24-year-old is expected to leave West Ham following their relegation to the Championship.

The London outfit are prepared to cash in on several valuable assets as they attempt to generate around £150m through player sales after relegation.

They have already recovered more than half of that target by selling Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham Hotspur.

Summerville endured a difficult 2025 at West Ham, but has been in sensational form over the last six months.

All seven goals and five assists he produced for the Hammers last season came in 2026.

His reputation was further enhanced after his electric performances for the Netherlands at the World Cup.

Despite the Dutch suffering a shock last-32 exit against Morocco, Summerville still finished the tournament with an impressive return of two goals and two assists in just four appearances.

The former Leeds attacker may not yet possess superstar status, but his talent suggests he has every ingredient needed to become a top-class winger.

With Champions League football returning to Old Trafford, United need greater depth to cope with the demands of playing twice every week.

However, any serious move for Summerville could ultimately depend on the future of Marcus Rashford.

If Rashford fails to secure a permanent move elsewhere, United may choose to reintegrate him instead of committing a major fee to sign a new winger.
