_“There’s bad blood between Elliott and Liverpool now, as there should be. He and his advisors are very unhappy with the way that Liverpool have treated him and with the whole Villa situation._
_“I think he is a perfect Palace fit. He reminds me of a few of their midfielders. He’s got that terrier-type ability. I remember Conor Gallagher having a great loan period at Palace and I see the same sort of role coming there._
_“It’s a perfect place for him to go and European exposure again will bring him back and it will make Liverpool and Villa both realise what they’ve missed. I rate him and I think he would do well at Palace. He fits perfectly into their mould, so yes I think it’s a positive for him at last and he deserves some good luck.”_
**Has Harvey Elliott played his final game for Liverpool?**
-----------------------------------------------------------
Elliott is such a gifted player, being called “special” by former Liverpool striker [Neil Mellor](https://www.empireofthekop.com/2024/12/19/mellor-praise-elliott-special-talent/), so it would be a shame to see him leave permanently this summer.
So much will depend on how much Iraola rates him, though, and also whether the boyhood Reds supporter is happy to play a squad role moving forward.
Realistically, Elliott isn’t going to oust the likes of Florian Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai, while other signings are also likely to come in, so leaving could be the best option for him.
But if he does end up staying put, his technical quality and intelligence could be hugely effective from the substitutes’ bench, as they so often were under Jurgen Klopp.
