Chelsea have pathway ready for Brazilian – Defender prepares for official arrival

Chelsea’s long-awaited arrival of Denner Evangelista is now around the corner. The Brazilian left-back is set to officially join the club after turning 18. He will then begin preparations for the 2026-27 season.

Brazilian insider outlet Sou Timão reports the teenager will initially join Chelsea’s Under-21 side. He will not be fast-tracked into the senior squad.

The plan is to give him time to adapt to English football, the club’s training methods and the demands of European football. Only then will any first-team opportunities be considered.

Chelsea’s long-term plan

Denner Evangelista completedhis €10m (£8.6m) move from Corinthians in 2025. However, FIFA regulations prevented him from joining the club before his 18th birthday.

Chelsea have already shown how highly they rate the left-back. Last year, they brought him to London for knee surgery after a meniscus injury. Later, they asked Corinthians to allow him to complete his rehabilitation in England under the supervision of the club’s own medical staff.

That meant the teenager remained at Cobham throughout his recovery. He stayed there before becoming eligible to officially join the Blues.

Time to make the next step

Denner Evangelista arrives in England with a strong reputation after emerging as one of the brightest prospects to come through Corinthians’ academy in recent years.

The left-back attracted interest from abroad while still in the club’s youth system, prompting Chelsea to move early to secure his signature.

Chelsea’s immediate priority is helping Denner adapt to life in England and the demands of European football. The Under-21s are expected to provide the first step in that process before the club assesses his progress.

Corinthians will continue to follow Evangelista’s development after cashing in on one of the standout products of their academy.

The Brazilian club believe the next stage of his career now lies in England, where Chelsea will look to help him fulfil the potential that made him one of the country’s most highly rated young full-backs.
