Beşiktaş have accelerated their contact with Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard over a move this summer. The Belgian will decide his future once Belgium are done at the World Cup.
Journalist Sercan Dikme reports that the Turkish side are pushing to sign a left-winger this summer. Trossard is one of the serious candidates for the position.
€20m bid accepted
According to Dikme’s information, Leandro Trossard is a player that Beşiktaş are pushing hard for early in this summer transfer window. They have already held meetings with his agent, and more are planned.
There are ‘no issues with Arsenal’ over the transfer either. The journalist does not make mention of a transfer fee at this moment in time. But there are ‘no major hurdles’ either with the Gunners or Trossard at this moment in time.
Instead, Beşiktaş are now waiting for the Belgian international to make a decision about his future. He will not do so until Belgium are eliminated from the World Cup. They take on hosts the USA on Tuesday in the round of 16.
The Turkish side will therefore wait, with manager Vincenzo Italiano having already approved the deal. That is another potential hurdle which has already been cleared.

Sport Witness have been covering reports of Beşiktaş’ interest over the last month. The first of those, at the beginning of June, explained that the 31-year-old was a top target for them this summer.
A follow up to that report explained a €20m bid had been submitted by their president. The latest then explained that Arsenal had accepted that offer and were leaving it to Trossard to decide his future.
Now it appears that talks with his agents have also progressed positively, with Dikme reporting that there are no issues on that side. It’s now a case of wait and see, with the World Cup very much getting in the way.
