English Premier League giants make their move
Chelsea are to sign highly-rated Hearts teenager Alfie Osborne after he agreed terms on a long-term contract. The 17-year-old defender is to leave Tynecastle Park and continue his career in the London club’s youth academy. Hearts are set to receive a six-figure compensation fee for the development of the 6ft 4in Scotland youth internationalist in their youth system.

Osborne has gone through a medical at Chelsea and is now preparing to move to England. He is a graduate of the Riccarton youth academy who played for the club throughout his youth. He has also represented Scotland at under-17 and under-19 level. Hearts wanted him to sign a new contract but he had multiple offers from clubs in Britain and Europe and has now agreed to sign for Chelsea.
FIFA rules mean the Edinburgh club are entitled to training compensation but that will not be a huge sum.
