Not Summerville! Despite targeting West Ham man, Tottenham’s ‘primary focus’ is ‘this’ Man City …

Tottenham are in desperate need of fresh energy in the forward department.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Roberto De Zerbi is being fully backed in this window, and as much as £237million has been spent across six signings so far, with Sandro Tonali’s signing yet to be officially announced.

The Spurs hierarchy have followed up on their promise after surviving the Premier League drop, and with the midfield unit now seen as complete, the N17 chiefs are set to focus on improving the attacking options. It is no secret that talks between Tottenham and Manchester City are ongoing for Savinho, who wants to become a part of De Zerbi’s revolution in North London.

The 22-year-old endured a disappointing last season, but that hasn’t waned the Lilywhites’ interest in him. After missing out on his services last summer, our club bosses are determined to wrap up a deal this time around. Alongside Savinho, Tottenham have shown a strong interest in several wide options in the transfer market. West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville is one of those.

Ben Jacobs gives updates on Tottenham’s pursuit of Savinho and Crysencio Summerville

The North London club are keen to bolster their forward options, with Randal Kolo Muani’s loan expiring, Richarlison expected to be sold, and Dejan Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert, and Xavi Simons all dealing with long-term knee injuries. Crysencio Summerville has been a target for months, but Tottenham aren’t the only club keen on the diminutive attacker.

Speaking on talkSPORT, reliable journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that Manchester United have opened talks with West Ham over Summerville. He says that while Tottenham remain interested in the West Ham winger, their primary focus is on wrapping up a deal for Savinho.

“Talks are now underway directly between West Ham United and Manchester United for Crysencio Summerville, who’s just getting back from the World Cup, and don’t forget that Tottenham have looked at him in the past as well,” Ben Jacobs said on talkSPORT.

“Their primary focus is Savinho. Let’s see whether the Manchester City board choose to sanction that deal or not.”

Savinho has already agreed personal terms with Spurs and wants to join, but talks continue between the two clubs over a fee. Man City want around £60m to let the Brazilian international leave. Along with Savinho, De Zerbi wants Summerville, who had a strong World Cup campaign with the Netherlands. He registered two goals and as many assists in four World Cup appearances; however, the 24-year-old was one of the players who missed a penalty in the shootout defeat to Morocco in the round of 32.

With Man United opening talks for the Dutchman, it is up to the Tottenham bosses whether to hijack a move or not.
