Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to put pen to paper on a new one-year contract at Celtic, according to a report.

The former Liverpool and Arsenal star joined the Hoops on a short-term deal for the remainder of the season back in February after being convinced to make the move north of the border by Martin O'Neill.

That transfer included the option of an additional year - and Oxlade-Chamberlain - who netted twice in 12 appearances for the Hoops - has now reportedly agreed to extend his stay.

Sky Sports report that the 32-year-old's happiness in working under O'Neill combined with the veteran bosses' desire to keep him was key to England international's decision.

They add that Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to commit his future to Celtic despite having offers on the table from other clubs around Europe.

It comes after the Premiership champions reportedly opted against handing Kelechi Iheanacho a new deal.

The ex Manchester City and Leicester frontman arrived in Glasgow on a free transfer last summer and scored pitoval goals in the closing weeks of the campaign as O'Neill's men secured a league and Scottish Cup double.

However, The Sun report that the Nigeria international is set to depart after Celts chose not to take up the option to extend his contract.

Iheanacho, 29, is said to be of interest from several teams in Turkey's top tier.
